'Scratching' noise from belts...

Hey guys... I know it's a shot in the dark, but some of you are seriously Honda geniuses so I thought I'd ask you guys before I took it to my 'trusty' mechanic.
I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX-V6, which I purchased about two months ago. I haven't had any serious problems with it, but today when I left the engine running and got out of the car, I noticed a 'scratching' noise, kinda like a girl's nail file or smooth grit sandpaper. It's nothing you can hear from the inside, even with the windows rolled down. I opened the hood, and it wasn't my imagination, it seems that the noise is coming from one of the belts on the passenger side of the car. I checked the belt for any wear, and it really didn't seem worn or cracked.
Has anyone else had a similar problem, or know what it could be? I'm taking a 3500 mile road trip in about three weeks and I don't want any suprises. Besides that, I hate knowing that something *might* be wrong with my car!!!

Ab, first off welcome to AF, 2ndly, please don't bring back threads that have been dead for 3 months. If you have a question that wasn't answered in a dead thread...ask the question by starting a new thread...don't try and bring this back to life.
Now as far as your problem...is you belt whinning or scratching...and how old is it (last time it was changed: year and mileage)
