my 95 RS is making this annoying hissing sound when i accelerate, and i notice that it gets worse as the rpm's go up. i have nothing done to my car and this just all of a sudden started happening and it is getting worse and worse all the time. someone told me that it could be a vacume hose leak or something like that. any help??

you probably had a vacumme hose break underhood. If you car has the stock air box you might want to check around that and see if something is loose, that will also cause a hissing sound.

Did you check your PCV valve? My engine was making some hissing noise also because of the PCV valve went bad.

I am not sure where your PCV valve is, but mine is somewhere below the intake manifold. It's a small plastic valve (only about inch and a half in length) with one end going into the engine and the other end going out into a hose . I am not sure how you check it to see if it was bad but to get a new one would only cause you less than 5 bucks. Good luck.

pcv valve is easy, just put it back into the hole nice and secure. but that wouldn't be the hissing noise. most likely it's the vaccuum hose.

Im guessing that the hissing is coming from your catylitic converter. I need to get a new cat and mine is making hissing noise, so you might have the same problem as me.
