Problem with my ABS?

Is it normal for the ABS to pump and make some strange noise once a while?

Once a while during idling my rpm would drop and the ABS would made some strange noise. My mechanic said my ABS is going bad, and it might lock up my wheels all a sudden when driving. Anybody else got this problem? I got a '95 gsr by the way.

I have a 95 GSR as well and my abs pump makes a noise at startup every time but thats it.....you may wanna go get a second opinion and maybe a couple qoutes to fix it....while your at it try a junk yard to find a new abs unit cause the 98+ i think they went to a new smaller quiter system

Just unplug the fuse? I thought the ABS is part of the brake system and it is needed in order for the brakes to work properly?
