Hi. I'm in the process of replacing my timing belt on my 92 Plymouth voyager and I'm stuck at the 19mm bolt on the bottom pulley attached to the crank.
I've tried everything. I made a bar that attaches to two of the small bolts holes on the balancer so it catches on the frame, and with my big 1/2 ratchet and breaker bar and I only managed to deform the bar I made !? So I made a second pair this time, hopefully 2 bars will not deform this time. I'll try tomorrow although I'm some what weary about putting to much pressure on the small bolts I attach the bar to as they hold all the pulleys on the balancer.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on what I might try. I don't have access to impact tools and I really want to try and avoid having her towed to the garage ($$$). :(
Is it reverse thread ?
I don't have a shop manual for her, I went to get one yesterday and there back ordered until Wednesday or Thursday. I even got on a bus today (first time in about 15years) to goto the library only to find the one I went to was closed on Sunday :(
Thanks in advance.

I finally got it off. Using the tool I made to hold the fly wheel and a little heat and... vola!
Should be smooth sailing from here.

Mission Acomplished.
Fired right up and purred like a kitten.
The van is probably a little better off now. I pulled off all the old (unused for 6 years) a/c crap. A little lighter now.

Hi
We are trying to get that bolt off and just wondered what you used and how you did it! we have a 92 3.0 Voyager and that bolt just won't budge. Thanks!

The trick that did it for me was... Heat !
It was obvious after I got the bolt off... It had locktite on it. So you need some heat to release the locktite in the threads. I used a regular propane torch on it for less than 5 mins and worked !
I also made this bar (about 1.5 feet long), drilled two holes in it so I could bolt it to the fly wheel counterweight (bottom pulley, the one your trying to remove). I set it up so when I cranked the ratchet the bar wedged against the ground... vola !
Another thing I had was a breaker bar (extension for my ratchet) to give me more leverage.
At first BEFORE I used the heat... I was putting some serious pressure on it and it wouldn't budge. I was getting worried about doing some damage down their to the balancer or something...
When I added heat and gave a couple taps with my hammer (not so much as to deform the bolt head) it came off within seconds. :)
Hope this help's and Good Luck.
