Power Window makes noise when fully up

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic. The driver side power window makes a loud grinding noise as the window reaches the full "Up" position. It is almost as if the window is trying to go up too far. I've removed the door panel and inspected the interior of the door panel with no luck in finding any obvious. Anyone have a clue on this? Is this a "cable-type" system on this model window? Could the cable (or gears) be slipping when the window reaches the up position?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Your window can't "go too far up" When the window gets seated at the top the motor can't push it up anymore more because its not strong enough to push glass through steel.
Shoot your weather stripping as well as the gear train and guides with a silicone spray. That should ease up the work load on your window motor and maybe stop the noise.
