Does anyone know if an '01 Tacoma will pass the CA smog test. I am working in AZ for 3 months, and there is one I am interested in. My home is in CA and they have tough smog regulations. It's a V6,TRD, 4x4 Extracab, SR5, power windows etc with a shell and nerf bars. Asking price is $16,900 with 38,000 miles.
Thanks,
Steve

I'm pretty sure it will, I bought a 2002 (same engine & exhaust) that stated 50 statle legal emissions on the sticker. The only thing to consider would be if the current owner has made any modifactions.

There is a good possibilty that Tacoma was built out of the Fremont, California plant. You may be able to confirm this with the original sticker if its still available.
I would agree that you would need to be careful about any modifications.

Thanks guys. I contacted a couple smog centers in CA, they said as long as it had the 50 state certification sticker under the hood, and there was no major engine mods, it would pass. I looked at the truck I just bought and it had the CA sticker-so no problem!
