I just recently recieved my new TB, an Accufab 75mm, and I noticed I does not have a hole drilled in the throttle plate for extra air at idle. Is it supposed to be like this or are you supposed to create your own if needed?

From what I remember some TB's have them, and others don't. Your idle will be controled by the IAC attached to the TB. If there is still problem with idle, after you have everything set up, TPS and throttle adjusted , then I might try and adding a small hole in the butterfly, or pick up an idle air adjuster that goes between the TB and IAC. I have that and it helped out a lot.

My experience was that the throttle plate would "stick" without the hole. I had an Edlebrock 65 mm TB with no hole and the vacuum seemed to hold it until it broke loose and would rev higher than I wanted. Drilled the hole in the butterfly and no more problems. Guess Ford knows what's best?

My experience, anyway.

I have an Accufab 65mm and my idle was strange too (part of it is the cam) but I bought an IAC adjuster from Latemodel Restoration Supply (www.50resto.com) part #LRS-9939-A for about 20 bucks and it improved the idle quite a bit. Don't drill a hole in the blade!! It'll only decrease the value of it when you want to sell it.

Ive seen it too. How exactly is it adjustable though?

It's adjustable and allows a small stream of air into the intake which can then help solve idle problems.
