this post is for my friend he drives a 97 ford taurus SE 4 door. he was wondering who makes an aftermarket headunit.hes already upgraded to subs and the speakers all around but he says its impossible to get a new headunit. is this true im tring to find one.anyone know where to look?

From what I was told at best buy, there is an adapter plate available to allow for the installation of normal head units. The plate is not cheap, around $80 or so depending on the climate control set up you have. It is not off the shelf, you would need to ask in the installer garage more about it.
