Does anyone know how to change the plugs on a 2000 Rodeo with the 2.2L? I found the ignition wires going into the top of the engine underneath a black cover. But when I try to life the boots, they are brought back down with a spring action. A broke one of the 90 degree boots as well trying to pry it up.
I lifted the boot up with a screwdriver to see what was underneath. Didn't look like spark plugs.
The Haynes manual is useless in this matter.
Here are some pictures of my engine and where I was working:

Thanks in advance!

Much like the 3.2L, the 2.2L spark plugs are WAY down in there due to the head design of these engines. The spark plug "boot" is usually a long tube, with spring style connector that snaps over the top conductor of the spark plug. Try to work'em with a twisting motion to break them free. You may wind up having to dig them out with a set of picks or whatever you can get in there. Put a dab of silicone grease on them so next time they'll pull right out. Be sure to use quality plugs too. Try to use whatever came with it OEM.
