2000 Si -vs- 97 Type-R

Well yeah, I raced a type-r today. We both had the exact same mods, AEM CAI and Tenzo-R axle-back. I beat him both times we raced. Poor guy.

OK now its your turn to be like "yeah right you cant beat a type-r".

other driver can't shift... good job you beat a type-R! ::hands you a cookie::

Do we have the same exhaust? When you raced him, I bet he got a little ahead at firs, huh? The Si could use some more torque to take it off the line.

I've raced a Type-R teg a few times at the track. He was stock and I had a AEM CAI and he stomped me both times. I ran a 15.5 and he won by quite a few car lengths. I have slip times to prove it. Aint no way your Si could beat an ITR regardless of its year. You were dealing with a shitty driver, or a GSR with the ITR exterior fixins. So don't be getting cocky next time you're at the line with one ;)

No no... I believe you. I beat a Mclearen F1 the other day by like 4 or 5 car lengths so anything is possible :bloated:

I beat the Integra funny car that was pushin 65 pounds of boost from both its turbos a couple days ago. 4000 horsepower cant compare the the brute force of my Metro. :rolleyes:

Nah it was a type-r. I talked to the guy afterwards he was like "nice race..." I think it boiled down to the driver though, cuz I took him off the line and he never caught me. The second time he raced was a rolling start, it definitely had more torque but mine pulled on the top end.

yea you can beat a maclaren when he's not racing but i would like a more i depth explaination of the two races please

I don't wanna sound like I'm flamin' but if he was a good driver then there's no chance you could beat that ITR with a Civic SI with the exact same mods. Just not a chance.....;)

So the guy probably didn't know how to shift properly or he had a hurtin' ITR...

the only type r i ever raced had an intake and exhaust that i could see and i barely beat him. i could whoop an si with the same mods without even trying. so im betting the guy in the type r u raced couldnt drive.

hey you live in puyallup? shoot let's meet up and let's race. if you can see my get within 1.5 carlenghts of me, i'll give you props. i live in auburn so we about 15 minutes away from eachother. after the race you can post whatever you want. but at least you'll know what a type r can do to an si.

yea seriously bro, unless he was spanking his monkey while he was trying to shift or something, you didnt beat him fairly. put a licensed driver in the car instead of a 12 year old, and you got yourself a nice loss. oh, and that 900 hp charger from F&F had nothing on my BMX.

Its not so hard to believe. My roomate from last year has a 98 ITR with iceman intake, comptech catback exhaust, and a header, i think it is dc sports. One of our friends from school came down for a weekend and he had bought a new civic si. Exhaust, aem intake. I was riding shotgun in the si, and we were right behind the ITR. Both drivers gun it at a stop sighn, and up to about 70 mph, we were right on the ITR's ass, he couldn't pull for shit, and he had no passenger either. I was like "ohhh shit"

That is nothing compared to my race against a top fuel car their methanol based fuel was nothing compared to my unleaded 86 gasoline.
In third I was already 3 1/2 car lenghts ahead.:D
