About the Animals, is it such a shame that Possums, natures pest were burnt, but it must have sucked waking up to all that choking smoke

They say that it's going to take 15 years to get the Koala population up to what it was before the fires. :( It was weird though even though we were in the Blue Mountains for some of our trip you wouldn't even know there were any fires. Clear skies and not a trace of smoke. Really strange!

They love Possums over in Australia - they even have some in the zoo, for people to look at and go "oh how lovely! look dear, a possum!!" There are fossils of plants like Pohutakawas in Australia, but no plants - the possums already destroyed 'em, so now they're not a pest anymore. I often think "hmmmmm I wonder why most of Australia is desert - must be the damn possums"
