i have a 97 4runner w/ ~120k. i haven't driven it in about a month and when i tried to start it recently, a rapid clicking sound went off and the engine wouldn't start. all of the lights and the radio work, so i don't think it's the battery, and i had the started replaced ~1.5 ago. any suggestions? thanks

Sounds like your battery is dead. Try charging it. Alot more current is needed to start the engine than to run the accesories.

That's the sweet sound of a dead battery. Make sure the water level is good when you charge it. Depending on how old the battery is and how many times it has died on you, they cells may have become bad. It might be time for a new Die Hard.

Fully concur that the battery is dying, pretty soon, you will not even hear the clicking anymore,...

If the battery is 4 years old or older, just replace it. If it's younger than that, fill the cells with distilled or deionized water and charge it. Probably has some life left unless you've been mean to it. :)
