There has been alot of controversy as to whether or not ram-air has any actual value, right here in the Mustang forum alone. But I think there is one particular thread that discrbes it best:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=175009&highlight=Ram+Air
It's quite technical, (for me anyways), but I think basically what it says is, ram air doesn't really work until your traveling at a very high rate of speed, (185+ mph), because the motor is already sucking air at a very high rate of speed.
Even though I couldn't begin to figure out the math, I believe this to be true. It just makes sense that the motor is going to suck air at one hell of a speed, especially when it's working hard.
So if you believe this to be true, then really, the only other reasons for ram-air would be for cold air induction, which it would serve fairly well for, or for show.

I got Ram air and does make the motor run cooler. I also have a cold air intake I don't know if the ram air helps it or not but it seems good enough for me.

i think the real question here is : What is the point in this thread?
The point was, that someone had a question that he had no knowledge on. He asked because he was curious and wants to know details. If everyone put down someone for the questions they asked, no one would ask, and no one would learn. The only pointless question asked is the one that is not asked!
