WELL THE TIME HAS COME FOR ME, IVE OWNED MY GTO FOR NEARLY TWO YEARS AND IM GETTING A LITTLE TWITCHY WHETHER TO UPGRADE MY PERFORMANCE OR GET SOMETHING ELSE, :screwy: IM LEANING TOWARDS KEEPING MY CAR AND GOING DOWN THE TURBO, INJECTORS,PUMP ROUTE :evillol:

QUESTION IS, HOW MAD DO I GO?
I USE THE CAR EVERY DAY SO I NEED TO BE CAREFUL I DONT LOSE THE RELIABILITY I ALREADY HAVE AND FUEL CONSUMPTION IS DOWN TO 17MPG ROUND TOWN ALREADY. :banghead:

WHAT IN YOUR OPINION IS A SAFE HP I COULD GO TO?

ANY VIEWS ON THIS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

BRIAN.

i say as long as you have a boost controller(preferably a computer kind were you can alter it from inside as you please) then you can take it to near 500hp but run more like 430hp everyday. that way if yu spot a race you can just turn up the boost and drop doors on the pavement.

I am about the same on fuel consumption, and its my daily driver as well, but I have every intention of putting 15Gs and 550cc injectors, the Denso Supra pump, and the MAFT when I have the money (possibly next years student loan?...I mean who really needs to pay rent when you have a vr4 to sleep in...right?) Anyways, I would say they would be safe for a daily driver...mpg will go down, although with the MAFT you can lean it out a bit/turn down boost for daily driving, so that might not be such a huge concern. I've heard of guys getting 40mpg highway by running pretty lean with it. Once you get it tuned properly, I don't think reliablity will be affected greatly. Obviously the more hp you get, the more stuff breaks, but if you don't beat on it, I would think it will be alright. Plus you already have a new clutch...so I would say go for it.

YEP, I THINK I MIGHT JUST GO FOR IT BUT WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE ON 15G OVER 13G'S? IS IT JUST THE EXTRA HP? OR ARE THEY A BETTER TURBO?

i don't know to much about turbos, but does 13g or 15g means 13 15 pounds of boost?

no it means the size and style of the intake compressor wheel.

oh, thankz, so the bigger the wheel, the more hp meaning the more air it can force.. rite?

yes thats right, although you do have to support them with the correct fuel ratio i.e bigger injectors and fuel pump, otherwise kaboom!!!!

13gs are pretty popular, able to hold 17psi to redline, but then 15Gs is a better upgrade. I dont know about you though, but i'm about to upgrade to a twin TD05 Big 16Gs

I wanted the 15Gs because I don't take it to the track too often, but I like to have a fast as hell street/daily driver. So I figured going large but staying with the TD04 housing was the best way for me to go...but who knows..a few more years down the line and I might be upgrading again.
