How do u mean is there a difference between 4wd and awd both skylines mentioned have a 4 wheel steer and four wheel drive doesnt that fit under Awd.

It's a complicated 4wd system which is rear wheel bias. The car will only be 4wd as and when the system thinks that it needs to be so eg when the sensors detect rear wheels slippage or when the g sensors detect that the rear is snapping out.
Even when the car is on 4wd mode, it is still complicated. Because the exact torque split between the rear and front is still determined by the system.
At any other time, the car is rwd.

Yep, like I said its not All Wheel Drive per say. It part time AWD, which is better than any other AWD system, because it lets you get more power to the ground than in a typical AWD system.

If I am not mistaken, the Porsche Turbo, and the mighty Murcielago has the same system now. Correct? If so, copycat! :evillol:

Any AWD system with open diffs devides the power up defferintialy, and can become one wheel drive, or two, or three wheel drive.
Any form of electronic control simply takes control of how that power is distrubted.

I hate to say it SkylineUSA but your only arguing symantics. Any vechile with the ablity to power 4 wheels is considered 4 wheel drive, and any vechile with the ablity to power all wheels, be it all at once, or selectivly is considered All Wheel Drive.

No, your still argueing symantics, which means wrong or right is simply a matter of interpration.

By Nissans own discription the GTR is AWD, so say its press releases. The same is true for other cars with similar systems.

No difference, well the gear ratios are different, but other than that, nope.

Symantics, maybe. My point was to show the guys that do not know, that the GTR's AWD is not there all the time. That is all.

yes it can be classed as AWD but not in the sence that most people take AWD to mean and that is full time AWD.
