It's been a while...

...since I posted a race, but I had a fun little quickie encounter tonight, and I figured I'd share.

First off, I have been taking it easy with my car lately, as I need a new clutch (still :(), new rear brake rotors, and new axles. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/disappointed.gif I just graduated college and still looking for that career job, so there...http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/loser.gif

Anyhow, I was cruising back home from returning some DVDs, going about 45-50, ahead of any traffic, when I see this pair of headlights come around a pack of cars behind me, and catch up to me quick. He passed me up pretty quickly soon after.

I saw that it was a 4-dr 2nd-gen Integra, just out for a romp. Probably testing his new intake (I'll explain how I know). Otherwise, he was stock.

So, I felt frisky all of a sudden, and downshifted, and took off after him. I passed him pretty handily, and managed to get in front of him in line at a stoplight. We were behind one vehicle.

I heard an intake, as he sat behind me -- in traffic, me behind another car, mind you -- revving his heart out. He probably has a copy of "How to Make an Ass of Yourself 101". He probably thought what happened back there was a fluke, what with this crappy, faded-paint-having, old-ass Sentra, versus his clean, 4-dr Integra.

I knew this fool will try something.

As the light turned green, the truck in front of me took-off slow, while the car to his right took-off briskly, leaving room for me to maneuver around the truck, and have free room in front for at least a mile. I didn't take it.

I signalled for him to go around me through my rear-view. He took the hint, and I heard a rev, and off he goes. I go around the truck myself, with the Integra about 2 cars ahead already.

I stopped that pull immediately, as I get in front of the truck. By the end of third, I was handily passing him, easily getting-ahead about two cars, before I noticed that there was a truck in my lane up ahead, so I tapped my brakes and slowed-down, THEN got in front of him.

Up ahead, we ended-up next to each other at a red light, and he gets next to me and yells "whatcha' got in there man!"

I reply with "Stock!"

He goes "Nah man, that can't be!"

I said "SR20DE man, SE-R! - look it up!", "it's a Classic SE-R, just about as fast as the new SE-Rs!"

He goes "Sonofabitch, that was fast!" (I am sure he was being relative to his car, which he was probably way too impressed with, lol)

At this point, the light turns green, and I figured he'd wanna go from a stop, so I just kinda rolled into it, and guess what? He turned into a gas-station just past the light - fucker. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/evil_lol.gif Now, I looked like an ass, lol. Ah well, it was fun, quick, and as of this time, rare, so I'm cool with it.

BTW, I was bored last night, and went out at about 2-2:30, and did a few runs with my G-Tech, to see how my dying clutch is affecting my car's acceleration. My best run so far with my G-Tech, on the same exact "track", was a 15.00 @ 99 mph (G-Tech's website advises to subtract 3-4 mph to get what your equivalent drag-strip trap would be).

Well, last night, I could only muster a 15.33 @ 94, and my car didn't feel as robust as it normally does. If anybody wonders why I haven't taken it to an actual strip yet, this is why. good kill i had a friend with an ser, he ran a 14.95 with an intake and no muffler on nitto 555r's. ser's are very underminded and the guy with the integra is an ass for ditching you. fuck him. good kill again bro
