Well You Have Seen The Threads On Nitrous, Wet Or Dry? Direct Port? Well What Brand? Venom, NOS, NX, That Stupid Fast And Furious Stuff, ZEX, Well What Do YOU Think? HeHe I Was Thinking About Who I'd Respect More, The Guy Spending Thousands Of Dollors And Hundreds Of Hours On Making His Car Get Into The 12 Second Area, Or Tha Guy Spending Maybe 1000 On Nitrous To Get There,Hmmmmm One Shows His Skill And Unique Idea's OR Tha Other Guy Showing You Dont Need To Spend Alot To Go Fast.....Hmmmmm What A Thinker TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!:eek7: Well If You're On A Budget And You Want A Clean Fast Car For Cheap What Do You Suggest?

if you can afford to build a car right, do it. if not fuck it, go cheap and blow your motor, then maybe next time, youll save up and not be so cheap. ok well maybe one is more respectable , but for diferent reasons. i think taking time is more respectable for any setup you choose, nitrous or not. a mod is a mod, true. but just cause you have nitrous doesnt mean youre "built" or fast, for all those who think thats true. so to end THIS post, i think just slapping that shit on isnt shit, make it last and thats cool.

whats wrong with using NOS??? if you've got an engine that can handle it then theres nothing wrong with using Nos. Yes if a guy can run 10's on all engine thats awesome, but that doesn't make it any less of a hrad earned victory if he's running nos. Besides that, to really really run big shots of NOS like 125hp or higher, you need to have done a lot of engine work anyway so that the engine can handle it.
Building a car using Nos is not cheating, its just giving you an advantage just like if you'd put a turbocharger or supercharger on your car, its the same principal. Also, if you were building your car for drag racing but you also wanted it as a street driven car then Nos is the only way to do it without watching your fuel consumption go to hell and losing all practical driveability of the car. anyways thats my opinion.

NOS is a brand Zwrangler, stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems. Nitrous; N20 is the chemical make up. Nitrous is for lazy cheaters

Why don't you like it?
And I agree about the comment about 'just slapping on some NOS'... you should definately beef up some part of your car. I mean... I know there are systems that run on stock applications, but in the long-run you should at least upgrade fuel injectors if not engines internals so you can run a bigger shot! I am already upgrading my ECU and fuel-injectors for my NOS set-up... and I'm only running a 75HP-shot (for stock application).

:iagree: N20 is still a mod. but if you just snap on n20 to ur car, without checkin' your engine if it can handle it, then your fucked!

I think nitrous is a good cheap power adder but if you rely on just nitrous then you're an idiot. Plus people will always respect the people that put actual effort into their motors. I mean you can bolt on a 150-shot to a stock CRX. Just don't expect to get to the finish line with the engine still in the car. Infact... don't expect to get to the finish line at all. You need to reinforce your internals before throwing nitrous around in the motor. Nitrous is not an easy way out of engine work.

as mentioned before reason why most people blow their engines with nitrous is they dont fine tune it and go crazy 150 shots, change their fuel pressure and what not. I ran it fine with no probs only running a 75 shot.
I didn't like it cause once your bottle is empty your screwed, thats when I decided to go with a supercharger, powers there all the time. Nitrous was fun, but knowing you have to turn on your bottle and you have a limit sucks.

I remember an old Hot Rod magazine article where they took an old 318 Duster out off a junkyard's hands and then proceeded to bolt on steelies with 10.5in Mickey's and put the thing STOCK on the bottle. This was all in an effort to show two things;
A: The positive performance effects of nitrous.
and
B: The likelihood that your engine will go Kablamo after being introduced to our fine gaseous friend.
Interestingly enough, the 318 didn't do its hand grenade impression until the Hot Rod staff boys decided "Well, it didn't blow up stock with nitrous, and we ran some 13's. Let's see what she'll do with parts!" They tossed basically half the Jeg's catalog onto this woofed out 318, ran an 11.71 (according to my memory) and had to pick the rods up off the strip.
Nitrous can be fun. But it's not a permanent solution and the added wear and tear on the mechanicals can make for some pretty spectacular paperweight production.

Nos is a brand??? no shit sherlock. Nos is juts what everyone refers to nitrous as so thats why i used it and i'm sure that you're probably the only one who didn't understand that nos meant Nitrous in general and not specifically the brand name Nos :p
Anyway it seems most of the guys agree with me anyway on that you have to mod a car in the first place to use a big shot of nitrous. As I said before, using a smaller shot of nitrous won't make so much of a difference and the only way to use such a big shot is tuning your engine to handle it, so either way you've got a fast car and a fast engine without nitrous in the first place. Nitrous just helps but if a car is running 10's with Nitrous then you can bet he's got a lot of engine work and not just cheating with nitrous.

I agree. Post in the N2O thread if you want to talk about it, we don't need two.
