This is more of a venting than looking for help...

2002 Focus ZX3. Owned by my girlfriend. 27,500 miles. The car has not been religiously maintained. We brought the car to Danvers Ford two weeks ago after the 6 inches of rain we got here in Massachusetts. The front passenger footwell filled with an inch or two of water. I poked around a bit but without a service manual I didn't want to go too far. The dealer told us they have had many complaints and blamed it on the weather. I tried to quietly bring up a silent recall on this problem but he didn't take the bait. He did take our phone number but we never heard back.

My girlfriend brought her car in this week for a "Schedule B" service where they change the oil/filter, "multi-point inspection", and rotate the tires. I drove it this morning and noticed a pull to the right on the highway. Thinking the tire pressure was off I checked it when I got home. First I looked at the tire pressure on the door jamb. 34psi for front and rear. Well, the fronts were at 40 and the rears were at 30. The tires were cold. WTF!?!

I decided to look at the brakes in the front because I was kneeling right there. The front discs looked a little low so I ran my finger across to the outer edge. It's low by about the same width as a nickel... Now I can't check the thickness unless I pull the wheel off but that seems very thin. The dealer didn't mention anything to my girlfriend or say the car needed anything.

What crock of sh*t. I think I'll start doing the work on the car. I've done lots of work to cars.
