Thanks for the comment, It feels nice to have someone comment my work. It is not easy, I have been working on it for two and a half years (not all the time, not having money all the time caused postponing things) It is all most on the road, next is Paint, then interior. ewwww I can't wait to drive it, 2 1/2 years is a long time to wait, slow imports have been growing in numbers over the last 2 1/2 years and I haven't been able to do anything about it. I think my next projects will be, to put some old muscle cars togeather inexpensively and sell them to these kids with dumb imports. American muscle is a whole lot better for our economy, amognst many other reasons, like sound out the tail pipe, burnouts, easy to work on, non-electronic, NOT MADE IN JAPAN, not made of plastic, built to last not built to throw away in ten years, etc...etc...etc...

What is eaiser to work on, an 1998 Camaro or a 1973 Camaro. Both are Camaro's and Both are great cars, but, the new one is a pain. Old and New Camaro's handle themselves great in collisions and in rollovers, the cheap jap crap kills passengers, why would someone buy a car like that. New Camaro's do have alot of Plastic, but, they also have a very well built steel unibody under that plastic.

*sigh* well, i work on both, and actually being an electronics specialist, i prefer to work on the 98 models, because physical things break less often in them, so its normally a module or wiring problem that is easily fixed, and diagnosis is far simpler due to these modules that quite literaly tell you exactly whats wrong with the car, making diagnosis easier and much less time consuming. and takes the guess work out of it. much like the cheap imports are. also, i would agree that mid to late 80s imports are deathtraps, the CRX for example, couldnt pay me enough to drive one of those. however, it is a fact that from the mid 90's up, imports are just plain safer than american cars, only recently have the american companies stepped it up and made our cars safer. dont get me wrong, my first car was a 1977 oldsmobile delta 88, and i could drive through a house and if my eyes were closed, id probly barley notice it. but with the crumple zones and energy absorbers they are safer than most. they are actually built better than most american cars, i mean come on im a die hard chevy guy, but i wouldnt drive a new impala, even though they are nice cars, and ive been looking at a ecotec cavalier with a manual, what with rising gas prices, but just sit in one, soak in the cheap plastic interior, and wonder why im not gettin one. and also, not to be mean, but you also couldnt pay me to drive a stock second gen camaro. driven one once, and thought i was gonna roll it going around a 90 degree turn at 25mph. sorry, but after drivin third and fourth gens, those things scare me quite frankly. sorry man, but i just cant agree with ya on this one.

Okay, first off, I am not trying to start A fight with you, Chill. I am dissing on imports because they suck. You took my dis on imports and took offense to it because you own a car that is made out of plastic body panels and I said something about electronic cars are more difficult to work on. Well you disagree, No problem, but, let me shed some light. Here is a few questions that I want you to think about.....What would take less time to replace the head gaskets : a 69' Camaro or a 2001 Camaro?........... what would take less time and less effort to replace an engine in: A 1971 camaro with the original Lt1 or a 1996 Camaro?.........What car would it be easier faster and less of a hassle to change from stock manifolds to headers: a 1973 Camaro with a 350ci. engine or a 1995 Camaro with an Lt1?.......You can't say none of this is not relevent because all cars will need a new engine after a while, Chevy's hardly ever blow head gaskets, but, if they do it can happen to either. I hope I have made my point. All camaro's ever made are excellent in accidents, 1969 and earlier is the worst performer. You talk about crumple zones in new imports, yeah those might work with an equal size car, but, how about when a 4,500 lb suv hits it, your dead and all you passengers are dead in a stupid ass import. Now in a Camaro, any Camaro, anyone will be alot better off in any kind of collision with an Suv. Enough about the death trap imports......Also, why do you think that an old camaro would roll at 25mph, you obviously are a little confused. The Camaro you were in had some suspension and tire issues. My car takes corners like it is on rails, and that is before I put the urethane in the front suspension, Now I will go road race with any car on the street and blow its doors off, and I will woop most in a drag race, I guarentee it. I am going to try to enter my car in the street car challenge held by Popular Hotrodding, you'll see. Anyhow, peace, you are a fellow chevy head I have no beef with you bro. L 8

not that it bothers me, but doesnt the camaro have one of the highest, if not the highest death rate (to its occupants in an accident)

Sorry bud, but, an idiot going too fast in a vette or Camaro and not knowing its limits caused most of those deaths, it has nothing to do with regular driving accidents, those three links you put up is for High speed single car crashes, it does not coorespond with what I am talking about.

im just responding to what you said man, camaros are not excellent in accidents...my first camaro, a 94 z28 was totalled when i hit a telephone pole goin about 25 mph....not driving at high speed like an idiot, like you claim how all those accidents occured. (granted i didnt die)
so youre saying at LOW speed the camaros are excellent in crashes..as in how low a speed..10 mph? oh yea and your saying if hit by an SUV...so basically youre saying "camaros are excellent in accidents when it involves low speeds with an SUV hitting you" the fact is that the death rate in camaro accidents is like 3 times the average.
Camaros are not a safe car, and i could give a fuck...if i wanted a safe car id buy a volvo
i will however argue that 3rd gens are excellent when it comes to front and rear impact, but you will never convince me that all camaros are excellent in accidents, never.

well, i cant really argue the toughness of the camaros, my two girls have certainly been through alot, and still ticken, i mean got into an accident with the RS and a volvo station wagon. bent, hammered and pulled the camaro back together, then drove her four hours home. volvo was dead on impact and needed a wrecker to take it to the junkyard. so on that front i would agree, but as far as all that with me takin it personal, i really didnt, and i didnt think that you were rippin on my car. you were rippin on imports, for the wrong reasons. i mean shit, id love to have an old 1970 chevelle, or 69 ZL1, or 426 hemi dart. but my IROC is a better all around car than any of them. especially after i do some mods, and as much as it will urk me to say it, there are some bad ass imports, granted they need turbos to do it. but still, fast is fast, it just urks me when guys talk trash about new cars, cuz its not the 60's anymore. i mean, i dont suppose your first suggestion to a noob asking how to get more power, is to rip off all the emissions equipment is it? i dont mean to rip on ya man, im just sayin, theres no reason to rip on any car just because of what it is. if someone makes it worth mocking, then let rip, but i try to promote open mindedness in the car world, i mean my camaro is gonna be as close as i can get to a cross between old school muscle and heritage, and new age tuner cars. maybe it will be a bridge between your world and the small minded ricers, or both of you will think it sucks, but eh, cest la vie.
