best 6 bolt year?

hey im shoppin for a 6 bolt engine and was wonderin what the year was the best for them. what were changes from the first 6 bolt up to the 7 bolt. i kno the 1990 block has an external oil cooler which i like because i want to throw an external oil cooler on it anyway. any other differneces throughout the years??

all 90 - early 92's were 6 Bolt motors, the late 92 motors they converted over to 7 bolt but its rare if you can fine one... then from late 92 all the way until 99 are 7 bolt motors!

personally i havent heard or read anywhere that any of the 6 bolts are better than the other...i'm sure there is somethings that might be different but i have never heard anything so i just chose 91 cause its right in the middle! anyways good luck and let us know how the swap goes... and if you have anymore questions!

The only difference between the 90-92 6bolt motors is the cams. 92's have the best ones.
