Hello,
Today I was driving home from work and my car was having problems accelerating and when I did there was this strange sound that was coming from the left side. It sounded like my tire was loosing air. I dont know what it is. Is it my fuel injection?
I have a passat 2001 1.8t. And about 61000 miles on it. Does anybody have a clue what the problem is? Im short on cash and was wondering if I could fix this myself? Please help.

If something sounded like it was losing air, it probably was something to do with the turbo system. Have you tried checking all the intercooler lines and making sure none of them have leaks? Besides that, I would check the diverter Valve, it could be bad also. Both of these would definately affect acceleration also. Let us know what you find out.

I've heard several complaints of the turbo systems air pipes for the intake air coming loose & making this noise.

Thats what it was an air pipe. I tightened it and it's running much better. Thank you for your help.
