night at the drag races

i was at the local drags for a test n tune/ compact car series when i saw one of the funniest things ever in a race. ok lets say right off that this race was not fair because it was a 2003 svt cobra mustang versus a 99 civic all "riced out." well as soon as they were doing the pre-race burnouts i knew it would be a blow out since the civic cant turn its tires. well from the start the mustang just messes with him. he keeps just jumping out in front of him and letting the civic catch up to him and toying with him. the civic driver was a young kid and the mustang had an older man. when they came by to get their time slips all of the civic driver friends were laughing at him so hard but really it wasnt fair to begin with. hope u all get a kick to.

Poor guy with the civic....NOT!.....so why was the mustang guy playing with him instead of trying to put a legitimate run in?

the mustang already had about 15 legitimate runs in winning all of them over trans ams and stuff like that and i guess he wanted to play with a high 16 sec civic (the civics first run he did was a 16.78) which made me laugh. but hey at the races were all just there to have fun but i was upset when a guy had a twin turbo stealth and ran in a measly 15.9. i was like what the hell he cant shift or something. but good times man.

big ass dodge diesel truck - 12's!!!!!! he must have been sprayin propane and nitrous at the same time! that thing was haulin

12's thats crazy man. i wish i had that truck

It's a Diesel... it was probably turbocharged... not uncommon for guys to reprogram their ECU's and fiddle with boost settings on their diesels and the trucks become 6000lb 12 second missiles.

duh! i think he was sprayin somethin, because his first couple runs were low 14's and then out of no where he pulled off a 12 second run

what the hell......he would hand me my ass, and that would be embarrassing, lol. I could just imagine seeing the tons of thick black diesel smoke pouring out of the truck as he goes flying down the track, lol.

there is a company that makes a box that looks like an obd 2 scanner. this little toy can get like 800 hp from the chevy diesels, 750, from fords, and 650 from dodges, and like 900 ft lbs of torque too. fuckin crazy

well thats just mean!! but incredibly funny! just wondering how does that propane stuff work?

When propane is njected it allows you to run higher boost without running too lean and getting knock.. It is like running on higher octane gas. So people use propane with normal gas and it equates to running race gas.

well DRAG1320NEONi drive a 1993 twin turbo stealth and the reason i called it riced out is because i consider any japanese car with a coffee can tip, body kit, neons and a huge t3 fin a ricer. not that i dont like them i am more of a liberal racer myself if it runs and looks nice ill drive it. i have nothing against an import as long as its fast. same with american muscle i like it fine if its fast. BTW what all have you done to your neons as far as mods?

well, the coupe is farily stock, just a cold air, no cat and a muffler. its dropped 4 inches also. im currently working on shaving the mouldings. i have a wings west sides a rear kit, with an r33 style bumper that im preping so nothing is ugly{imperfections}

the 4 door has a cia, no cat, header, n1 muffler{a real one}, msd coil, and single underdrive pulley. hes a user on here too. his name is 209neon

and the 4 door, is my drag car in the works.
