Are you sure that would work?
And why would someone even do such thing?

I think i heard of it somewhere but not sure. I think it fits but was also hoping someone would also let me know if it does. And why?... 5th on an SI is like an overdrive, different gearing on the gsr, would act like a true 5th gear.

Is he talking Bseries trannys like 99-00 Si or is he talking both Dseries tranny and Bseries?
But Jay.... it's the Si final drive in the ZC transmission to create that hybrid transmission.
Taken from Hybrid Honda website.
The Si transmission is the best choice available. Both the Si and DX transmission bolts right up and keeps the install simple. The DX transmission will sacrifice performance for better fuel mileage and lower freeway rpms. The ZC tranmission has a close ratio 1-5th gear, but a long final drive, making the best transmission still the US Si. For the ultimate acceleration make a Si/ZC hybrid transmission, by taking the Si final drive and put it in the ZC transmission. Or you can do it the other way around, ZC 1-5 in a Si transmission case. Either way, expect 80mph to turn 4300 rpms. However, the ZC transmission requires you to use ZC or 90-91 Integra axles, and a ZC or 86-89 Integra intermediate shaft. Because these axles are equal length, many users report a reduction in torque steer.

I thought he ment si from a d-series. and putting a b-series 5th into it. Um its always worth a try doing whatever you want?

Maybe you should look into your info more before posting wrong information. There is already enough of it going around as it is.
zc tranny = D series
si tranny = D series (88-91)

OK I am not a tranny person, but what are you try to get out of your Si tranny? Lower RPM at high speed for faster cruising or better closer gearing for the 4th to 5th shift?

i have an s1 tranny w/an LS 5th gear for better gas mileage on the freeway, and it works great.
