Hi
I have a 96 Cav 2.2 auto with a 146,000 kilometres on it. Can anyone recommend what do I need to change or maintain in order to prevent from breaking down on the side of the road? The car still has its original fuel filter, timing belt and/or chain, and other belts, water pump, fuel pump, alternator.
Thanks, Rokhill(Chris)

Yup, change fuel filter ASAP, change timing belt pronto (if chain-no worries) change all accessory drive belts.
Fuel pump is prolly thinking about going, but if it sounds OK-prolly no worry-yet.
I got about 11 years out of most of the OEM pumps.
Best to change the stuff that clogs/wears out easiest first for peace of mind.
