Hi.
I'm thinking about buying 1990 944 S2 with little over 100000miles. Seems like car is well maintained (timing belt, etc...by porsche shop) runs great. I was wondering if these cars can last much longer than 100000miles.
What is your opinion on this? I'm not familiar with porsches so please forgive my lack of knowledge. Thank you for your help.

Porsche recommends replacing the bearings at 300,000 if thats any indication, but really it depends on the previous abuse and maintainence o fthe car

My sisters 84 944 has 370xxx perfectly maintained miles on it. Still runs as good as new.
My fathers 87 924S has 247xxx miles on it. Drives wonderfully, used for drivers ed events too.
My 83 944 has 203xxx miles on it. Daily driven and autocrossed.
If the car was as well maintained as you say, go for it. BUT has an independant Porsche shop look at it. They will tell you the real truth and find any hidden problems. It's worth $250 for peace of mind.
Hope it helps
