Do you think it makes sense?

Almost all of us, naturally, have yet to be satiated desires of driving an exotic car, such as a Ferrari or a Lambo, or anything else... However, do you really think it is worth all people's reactions once they find out that you're just driving a replica? Even if it looks exactly like a Ferrari from outside, the interior would not look like one, details would not look like one, it would not sound like one, and obviously would not drive like one. What I would do instead would be to sell my car and add the money up( the money planned to be used for the body job) and buy a better and brand new car. What do you think?
Cuz with a replica, once people find out that it's not real, people's reaction to you would be the exact following. :loser: Believe it or not there are plenty of car freaks around to distinguish your kit from an original exotic

See my pics: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4292457619
The interior is identical, exterior (height, wheel base, length, etc...) is identical, Sound is identical (at low end, of course not at top end due to lack of displacement and HP)
You get what you pay for. If you want an identical car that doesn't need a $5,000 clutch job and a $30,000 mile checkup, then you get a replica. If you want a car that looks funky and unproportional, you get a kit. Trust me, I don't get invited to cruise/hang out with the local Ferrari, Lambo, Viper guys for a poor cheep kit. I have dreamed about a Countach for the last 20 years and still can't afford a real one. But I did invest in an extrodinary replica which has allowed me to run with the exotics around town. Trust me, it's not as bad as you put it out to be, lol!
You don't get to hang out with guys like this, with just a normal every day car you see on the road. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid107/p6d27b5989e8e00fafb98d38e2019afef/f95de424.jpg

WOW!! I'm amazed...It looks exactly the same, I guess it's the first good kit car I've seen in my life. I've seen about a hundred of them and they were all carppy. One guy even tried to hit on my sister with his Diablo replica >:o , even though the exterior was the same, there were differences in the interior and did not sound as good as an original Diablo... Do you also have interior shots by any chance?

Here's the only interior shot I have. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid4/p5cc987b11e92b1ded8728968437b7fd5/fe555975.jpg (on page 4 of this link if other link doesn't work: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4292457619 ) It was taken whe I first got the car. I have cut the shifter nearly in half and installed a chrome ball on it. I can't imagine why anyone would want their shifter to be 5 feet tall like the one in the picture. Any way, the interior basically looks the same as a real C/T. The guages are in the right place and are duplicates of the real C/T. They were made back in the late 70's, 80's and early 90's so they weren't too extravigant for the model I have. Pretty square and "boxy". The seats replicate the real ones too and hug you tightly.
Thanks for the compliments. I guess you really get what you pay for in these cars. I paid $30,000 for this one. It was built in 96' and I'm the third owner. IT has been appraised for $50,000 in the past so you can see why it is such a good replica. Most "kits" go for around $20-$30,000.
I do have a friend here in Texas that builds Diablo's too and he takes the time to make them look origional in the interior as well as the exterior. Like I said, you get what you pay for.
For sound, it's hard to duplicate a "high reving" V12 with a V8. ith the right exhaust, you can get closer to a "high reving" motor sound with a V6. It's amazing of how close mine sounds to a real C/T. People don't believe me of course but I have a real C/T in my area to compair it to frequiently. Look on the web and you ca find good kits. I saw an AWSOME one, that was in the same class as mine, go for $22,000! I can't believe it was that cheep and it looked bad ass! Mine is from Euro-Works Ltd. It's the Mirage S Package. www.euroworksltd.com
Thank God the shifter has been changed out!

That's one of the cool things about a T-Bucket "kit" - no one cares if it's a "kit" cuz a T Bucket is always cool. No one is ever disappointed to find out it's not a real Ford.

I agree with you there..... The old Roadster and ZZ TOP Kits are just fascinating. Nobody questions them or even cares if they are real or not since they don't have that $100,000+ price quality to live up to. Very good point! I just realized, in the last few years, that alot of the old roadsters I see at the local car shows are kits...
