convertable? have fun with this one, hope you find the leak. dont know much about the convertable (other than they leak a lot) but my first guess would be where the top meets the rear deck...

thanks for the info but the convertible top is brand new, only about 2 months old. maybe they did not do a good job?

thanks

its possible that they didnt seal it up right or maybe whatever they used was a bad product. did the work come with any kind of extended warranty, even if it didnt, id take it back to whoever did the work and tell them to fix it, cause regardless of warranty a top shouldnt leak 2 months after its been replaced.

also i just realized that i have no idea how the convertables work, do they have a traditional trunk? i would imagine that they do, its possible the insulation around the crease is bad, and its also possible that i have no idea what im talking bout...

the top comes with 5 years warranty, i will give them a call..
or i was thinking it maybe be around the lights, i have a 89 300zx that had a leak go my spare tire, and i fixed it by replacing the seals on the rear signal lights. I wonder if camaros have the same problem?
thanks

When you get done with the shop vac and the water, make sure the trunk is really closed as we have had the water thing after we run the car thru an automatic car wash with the trunk not fully closed. On the '98 you really have to slam the thing to shut it....

ive never heard of the lights on the camaro being a problem. what you might want to do is get rid of the water thats in there now(obviously) and then spray the car down with a hose, or better yet pour water out of a cup and see if you can tell where the water is coming from...

Well before Genopsyde beats me to it, (close the trunk when it rains) I know that Gen was going to say something like that so i decided to beat him to it.

As wierd as it sounds... I have seen people set smoke bombs off in their cars in 5 gallon buckets then shut everything (doors/trunk,etc) and wherever the smokes leaks out of, thats where your leak is.. It Is only a thought but i HAVE seen it done. Some shops also have machines that generate smoke and they spray it around every crack of your car and if smoke leaks, theres the problem. Just a though in helpin you locate where the leak is.

Convertibles have a gutter system under where the tp and body meet. Maybe the shop that put your top in never put the gutter back in.

thanks a lot for all the responses...i will use a high power hose on the top and sides to see if it leaks. if so it's going back to the place that did the top.

thanks guys..
