I recently bought a 94 Lincoln Cont. from my in-laws for $1500 (a steal), but it has several problems. I first had to buy a conversion kit which works fine. It then started to run hot all the time, so I replaced the thermostat. Now, it's ticking whenever I place it in gear and press the gas. There is also some whistling coming from the side near the belts (water pump, belt tensioner area). I am lost when it comes to anything but classic caddies. Please help! :banghead:

the ticking sounds like the valves or maybe the rocker arms need to be adjusted. as for the whistling the belts may be just a tad loose or it may be somwething belt driven is getting worn(alternator, waterpump, ac, ect)Its a ford product so it could be just about anything! post back with a few more details if you can
