I had this problem with my car with the check engine light about 2 months ago. It's 2000 vw golf engine 2.0. I took my car to the dealer to run a diagnostic test to know why the check engine light was on, they said i needed to change the fuel pump relay and i did but not there and the light still on. Can somebody tell me what to do, i know you might be able to do something or i need to take it to the dealer.

please help.

Thank you very much!

They should have given you something that had the trouble code number on it, probably a P with four numbers after it. That info is pretty much needed for anyone to help.

if it's been 2 months... then it's a pretty serious issue.. since little problems (on obd2 cars, including yours) will turn their check engine lights off after 4 key cycles (starting and then turning off the car 4 times)

it's very likely that they forgot to reset your ecu and clear the faults... so even though the problem if fixed, the light is still on...

so try to do the four cycle thing first... then....

take it back to them (the dealer).. and have them hook up the 1552 to it again. if it's the same problem, have them clear the faults for you and not charge you for it, since they should have done it in the first place.

if it's another problem, well.. now you'll know, and you can address that.

"check engine" lights are a pain, and somtimes what can set them off can be ignored, and sometimes it's serious... only way to find out is plug in and pull the faults.

good luck
