alco injected MR2?

alright i was lookin in my Feb. 2004 SportCompactCar magazine, and on pg. 78 there is a 91 MR-2 with alcohol injection. my question is is this the same thing as the super powered alcohol cars doing 250mph on the quarter at the drag strip? if not what does the injection mean?

yes and no, some people use alcohol as a fuel and some are injecting into the air intake (like me). there is a difference between water/alcohol injection and alcohol "powered"

Alcohol injection on a street car is just like water injection but it has a great fuel component.
The question is why bother on an MR2?
Our cars run so stinking rich to begin with ... there is no need for adding extra fuel.

Now, adding water injection ... that has LOTS of beneifts.

alright well with the water injection, can you explain what that does? i have an idea, but why not ask ya know?

You are simply injecting a fine mist of water right into the intake stream right before the throttle body.

Benefits:
*effectively raises the octane of your fuel : it's like running race gas all the time
*cools the intake charge - more than any IC could do!
*steam cleans your engine (I know have perfect compression - no more carbon!
*helps in preventing knock/detonation
EVERY WRC (World Rally Champ) car uses this as far as I know.
