pros and cons

Hi everyone,
I am currently shopping around for a new efficient (gas mileage) car. I owned Sentra 91 before and I drove it up to 157K when timing chain went bad and I traded it in. Other than that, everything seemed to be just fine. That's why I am considering a new Sentra 04-S. But I have read some negative feedback from Sentra 03 owners. In consumer report it stands in one row with Cavalier in terms of reliability and consumer satisfaction! Is that true? Could someone shed a spot of light on this matter? I am not looking for better performance but reliability and efficiency as I am driving at least 100 miles a day. Any suggested alternatives?
Thanks.

As far as I know, Nissan had trouble with the 2002 version of the 2.5 liter engine(which is in the Sentra S), but nearly all problems have been resolved for 04.

Thanks, Fugiot!
I test drove one year old GXE yesterday to see what my Sentra would be a year from now. The mirror ajustment knob fell out on me when I tried to re-adjust mirrors. Not the most important thing but still... The ride was little shaky, significant wind noises at 50 mph, longer braking distance. Acceleration was OK for 1.8-liter engine. But overall I had no fun to drive this car (oh well, may be I grew spoiled with other cars since I drove my old Sentra years ago).
Could anybody say more about new Sentras reliability, please?
Thank you.

My car has ~43k miles, it's gone in for warranty work once, to have a $.02 plastic side molding clip replaced. Any other problems with the car I caused myself.
The SE has been proven time and time again to be the most reliable of the b15s though, even for cosmetic stuff like interior, body panels, paint, etc (which makes no sense to me).
