Hi,
WOW! What a nice forum. I hope somebody out there
can help me with my problem.
I have a 87 CRX Si, that I bought NEW when I got
back from the army. It's been the best car on the
planet and I am never letting it go.
But I have a little problem: a cocaine sniffing mechanic
ruined my paint. I am trying to view this as an opportunity,
even though its sickening. The car was originally black.
I wanted silver at the time but they didn't have it, so
now is my chance.
But I can't find the color codes anywhere. There are several
87 honda silvers - but only one for the CRX Si.
Can somebody please send me the color code/name of the
metallic silver used on the 87 CRX Si?
Thanks very much. condorski@mindspring.com

have u called honda? they should have that kind of stuff somewhere. a good paint shop should have that too, if they have to colormatch on an insurance job they're gunna need the code. only other thing i can suggest is that you find someone with a siver CRX and ask to see the door jam, it will have it written in there somewhere.

Yes. I am hoping there is somebody out there with
a silver one and will post the number off their door jam.
The body shop usually gets it off the door jam for collision repair,
and either mixes themselves or goes to the wholesaler.
The dealer here is an idiot. I'm going to swing by and
see if I can talk to a different dude, but past couple
of trips its been the same idiot.
It's really important to me to get the original 87 crx silver
and I can't trust them at all about anything.
As for finding somebody, its not so easy. There is only
1 other 87 in this city as far as I can tell, it IS silver, but
I have not been able to follow the dude home yet.

The paint code should be taged on the drivers door jam. If not call your honda dealer and give them your VIN#. They will tell you the paint code

um... i think the point is that he DOESN'T have the door jam or the VIN# for a silver CRX

Yes :) I dont have the VIN or door jam for a silver one.
Last time I went to the dealer to get these little clips, he says my car doesn't have the little clips (molding). I am holding one in my hand....
Says we need to walk out and get the VIN, because somebody must have added the clips aftermarket....we get the VIN...he says my
VIN does not exist...
Maybe he's thinking I beamed down, just to aggrevate him.
hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha
If I get a paint code from there it will be wrong, I know it.

Is there any spot on your car where the original paint is untouched. Gas door, Hatch/trunk, door jams, hood? You can Have it color matched
