more airflow for DPFI

I was thinking about what i could do to my car without spending any money, so I was like hmmmm I wonder what it looks like inside the air chamber. Look what I found blocking about 70% of my airflow.

I took that little POS brass thing out and i took my car down the road to see if i could feel any difference. I got a little more throttle response and it almost feels as if I put an intake on it for the first time (how much of a difference I felt). And its a lil louder too.

Yeah, those things are little kick in the butt of horsepower gains. Taking it out may give a tiny bit of improvement in throttle response, but nothing major. All base models with DPFI had them. I guess it's honda way of saying, "we can make it slower!"

Wow... it's good to see someone finding ways to make a little more performance with the DPFI system. Was it vwry hard to remove that plate? Do you think it would cause any adverse or dangerous situation of any sort by bypassing that plate? Troy

I did the same thing... didn't feel any power gains... so I put it back in, because I figured it was there for a reason... then I see a lot of other people on the board complaining that they were having carbon build up on their exhaust tips after they took that out... so I guess it does serve some purpose...
despite more airflow, supposedly... there's almost nothing you can do to the DPFI system to improve power by very much.
