radio noise

Hi, just arrived to this forum an hoping for some help.
I have a -99 grand voyager 3,3l (town & country i think in the states)
When i turn on the lights there i a static? noise from the left front speekers, both dash an door speeker, any clou? It only appears when the motor is running an lights on, if i turn the lights or motor off it stops.

Check under the hood, and make sure the ground straps from the engine to the body are there. There should be two of them. Flat braded wires about 1/2 in wide. Sounds like the radio is picking up static from the motor.

We have the exact same problem with our 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Radio noise only happens when the lights are on and it triggered by bumps in the road, or door slamming. When we toggle the power to the radio, the noise goes away temporarily. Glad to know we are know the only ones having the problem. Sounds like a Mopar defect of sorts. Please let me know if you solved the problem yet.
