just curious, why would you wanna swap in a jdm turbo when you have a usdm turbo already? for the $2500 youd need just for the parts for the swap, you could make a decent little mr2t

only thing i can think of is that his motor is blown and he forgot to mention it....otherwise, man who knows...

Even if the motor was blown, I would just get another USDM engine or invest in upgrading the one you got.

I'm just curious. Lets say the motor was blown, why the would you not get a JDM?

More expensive and harder to find parts for.
Try going to Toyota and/or a local autopart store and have them look up a part you broke on a JDM engine. Good luck :)

Look man if the tuner shop is telling you that you need a clip that is becuase in that clip (The whole back half of the car!) is all the wiring that you need and has all the parts that you need to have in order to make that swap! Also they are telling you this beacuase most places that you buy motors from come with eighter a cut wiring harness or no wiring harnesses with them, Now here is a website that is awsome it's in Raliegh North Carolina it's www.usedengine.com the Name of the acctual company is Japan Direct. Talk to Johnnie Morris. He will Hook you up!! they have the best deals on clips and they acctually go to japan and pick these clips out for us! They have a GREAT program and no bullcrap. All his clips come with full wiring, drive train, and motor. Infact one of my friends bought an s13 clip from him and the motor is in great shape it cranked on the first try and also it came with all the fluids no detuning and no bull. I think he paid $3200 for it all. the number to this place is 1-888-518-7341 toll free!

what was the link for your site or phone number and what are you garanteed? Here it's compression tested and checked for any damages, also that price I gave of my friends' clip i forgot to mention that he got a os-giken twin plate clutch, maines upgrade ecu, jun flywheel, an hks blow off valve, greddy profec b boost control, jdm greddy boost gauge, hks turbo timer, and the front end of that clip was in such good condition that all he did was take it off the actual chassi and bolted on to his car! all for $3200 (Red top Sr20det)

I never said that I had a link or a phone number.
From what I have seen (which is a lot) most MR2ers that have done the swap spend around $2400 or less for clip ... and yes they have gotten some surpise upgrades. Clips are the luck of the draw. You can't gaurantee that there will be performance parts there.

I would never buy a clip ... but that is me.
The last thing I would want is a JDM motor.

I can buy a complete 91T for less than $3200 ... why would I buy a clip for that?

I know of one importer of MR2 clips here in PA and he has gotten in over dozen of them in the last 6 months. I have no idea what kind of gaurantee he offers if any ... I just know his prices are around $2400 or so.

Frankly, I am really not interested in debating the point.
I have already clearly stated, that I would never want a JDM motor, nor would I ever recommend someone get one.
