how much of a difference will there be if I convert from dpfi to mpfi? Ive been having second thoughts about getting an engine swap and been looking into cheaper ways to get power. What do you think will be the change at the least.

From what I understand, you will only gain about ten horsepower. It's a difference you'll notice but after a few weeks you'll be wanting more power anyways. I know you dont want to hear this, but I would just save up my $ and go sohc vtec instead..... Plus even if you do the mpfi swap you'll still have the same dx tranny... you'd have to have an si tranny to really appreciate the difference anyways..... In short... I'd just say no to the mpfi and save a lil longer.... sorry I ramble.

i'd save some money and put a D16 Si motor in there mated to the DX tranny, and then turbo it down the road :D
DX tranny is higher geared so is good for turbo hehe

Hmm, I've heard the same thing with MPFI, after a bit youll be wanting more, but then again, I've heard that with a b16, and b18c1 and the b20, just leavesyou wantin more and more...I'd wait and go with the whole swap later on, its tough to save, but youll be happier if you do

I think ur forgetting that to swap ANY other motor in his car, he HAS to swap to MPFI anyway. There's no reason to save up for a sohc vtec because ur gonna have to convert to MPFI anyway to swap it in. I say do it and just get it outta the way. People don't really do it for power reasons, they do it because they know they have to in order to do a motor swap. Even if it only gives ur car 1 HP, u should still do it first if you ever plan on not having a slow car in the future. It is the #1 must-do first mod to a DPFI civic/crx.
