Weird smell

When my Accord is idling, occasinally I detect a smell coming from the vents. It smells a lot like burnt tires after a hard braking on the freeway.

Any ideas?

I have detected this smell in 2 other 1998 Accords.

I hope not but you may have a problem with your brakes. Get this checked as soon as possible because if your car can't break, then how can you drive it? :)

It may be that your brake fluid is somehow leaking....
Are your tires old? It may be time for new tires AND brakes.

I checked the brakes.

I didn't explain myself. It smells when idling sometimes. NOT when i brake. But the smell resembles a tire or rubber smell.
