I have been looking at a 1996 Skyline GT R33 for around 25K. I want to know what the difference is between a 96 R33 and a 99 R34. I would also like to know the specs on the R33 ( 0-60, 1/4 mile, top speed etc.)Any info on R33's would help me out a lot. Oh. and also what is the difference between a 96 GT R33 and 96 R33 GTS-T?

okay man. let's try and help you out. generally speaking the skylines come in families. each generation is R31, R32, R33, R34 they are numbered sequentially like that. (to non noobs, no need to point out my obvious lack off info I'm just trying to get the guy some "general" info) SO you have R32's, R33's and R34's these are most obviously designated by the body type. Sorta like corvettes, you have C1 C2 C3 C4 C5 and C6. NOW, within each body type you have different models. GENERALLY speaking: going from the crap to the crop:
GTS (non turbo)
GTS-t or GTS25t (Turbo)
GTR (Twin Turbo) Nissan's Flagship Skyline.
so you said 96 GT R33.
there is no skyline "GT" from 96. I'm thinking you might have meant 1996 "GTR" R33? vs. the 1996 GTS25t R33? Correct? BTW, with R33's there are no GTS-t's they are GTS25t's.
That should get you started, I hope that was at least some help.

SO is the 1996 Skyline GT R33 have the same HP, Top speed, 1/4 mile, 0-60, ETC. as a 99 R34? Is the only difference the body style?

If you're talking about GTR's, then there are a FEW differences between the R33 and R34. The 33 is slightly bigger, and has a five-speed manual. The R34 is slightly smaller, though slightly heavier, and has a six-speed manual. That's the big differences. Then there's the slight tweaks and tunes that Nissan does between any body style to the suspension and such.

So there isn't a difference in performance between a 96 r33 and 96 r34?

There is no 96 R34, and there is a performance difference between the two.
It doesn't really matter, since you can't get legal 96-up GT-Rs right now in the States anyway.

Firts of all I never asked anything about legalizing in this post. Quite frankly I don't give a F**k if you can or can't legalize a damn R34 or not Vquick! I simply wanted to know what the difference is in performance between an R33 and an R34, THAT'S IT! So next time take it easy and answer the question only.

damn man....no need to freak out, he's just tryin to help you. next time think before you open your mouth and remove all doubt of your being an asshole. and yeah there is a slight difference: the r34 having a lil bit more power and less weight: newer technology is all it is

Maybe you don't care about R34s, but you won't be able to get the '96 R33 you're looking at for the same reason.

The R34 GTR turbos are steel bladed, and the engine tune is better than the R33... so, stock for stock - R34 is quicker.
