Ive had my hatch for about four months and the only regret I have is that it doesnt have a sunroof. How hard do you think it would be to put one in? Im sure it would be involved but Ive seen targa top civics before, so surely it could be done.

yeah but those targa top civics are show cars that arnt daily drivers..if they are daily drivers they handle like shit. targa tops and sometimes after-the-fact sunroof installs require cutting away certain reinforcements , which in return greatly rais the vehicles ammount of chassis flex. On a hatch a sunroof would be no problom! But it does require a strong mechanical and body knowledge..you just dont wanna go cutting a section of your roof off unless you 100% know what your doing. you can buy sunroof kits that will come with everything from the glass, weatherstriping to the sheet metel screws to install. Of course it will not be a power sunroof, but i hope that came without saying. I know of places that do it for a few hundred bucks.

I live in florida, two hours north of tampa. I wouldnt even think of doing it myself. It took me a while to even find my hatch, and I would HATE to screw it up trying to do it myself. I mean I could do it if I had to, but I would rather not take a chance. There isnt many shops around where I live, there is a collision place that does other work too, but they wanted about 1500 bucks to respray my hood on my old car, and bondo a little rust spot.
Im probably gonna have to take a road trip somewhere.

not neccasarily , Just be lazy about it and call Superstreet or SportCompactcar and ask them for a reccomended fabrication shop near you. They have all the info due to shops sending there info in for this very reason

I have done it once, on a 92 Accord Coupe, it wasnt very easy. It took 2 days and many beers to get it to work, i would go to a shop and get it done.

If you get an aftermarket sunroof/moonroof, make sure the place uses a good kit and does a good job installing it. Some aftermarket installs of these are known to leak.

even some good installs can leak tho, thats the chance you take when cutting a hole out of your roof lol. chassis flex is a real bitch and can make anything unseal !

Yea, that's why I always say if the car doesn't come with a sunroof, don't put one in...if your getting a new car, pay extra for the factory option. Most of the aftermarket installs I've ever heard of leak...some leaked worse than others.
