If thats true then its also true that the Palestinians have only given death and destruction. I know which one is worse.

O.K. lets stay on topic. This is not about the upcoming election. This is not about U.S. bases in foreign countries. This is simply about the idea of the draft happening again. It is the idea of the minority forcing the majority into a situation they don't want. If the majority wanted to enlist, they'd do so, they don't need people to force them to do what they want to do. The draft is un-American.

Very true indeed.
Well, I have an extra room up here in Canada, if any of you Yanks need to leave the country for a while

I believe the rules are tighter now than last time - including not being exempted by higher learning as well as going to Mexico and Canada.

Actually I think what keeps enlistment numbers down is the opportunity to make a better living outside the military. I considered enlisting after I finished college. I was going to be able to go directly into officers training because I had a degree. I checked on the pay and was discouraged. I made more doing what I was doing for a living at that time.

Like I said earlier - mercenaries - oops, I mean private security contractors get much more - especially if they have special forces training.
Hmmmn, I wonder if working for Halliburton or one of it's subsidiaries makes one exempt from the draft.

LOL
It was REALLY hard to not criticize your intelligence, and your grasp of American reality with that last post, considering it was a senior Republican who is pushing for the draft.
Why don't you browse through here: http://capwiz.com/usatoday/bio/letterslist/?id=365
The letter is addressed to Senator Chuck Hagel, a Nebraska Republican.
Political shooting by Democrats, maybe, but it was a Republican who put the bullets in that gun, son.
Do the names 'Charles B. Rangel' or 'Ernest F. Hollings' ring a bell Mr. smartass?

WRONG, the Democrats were the ones who introduced these bills and started all this. Use Google before you write, it's too easy to have an excuse not to. Yes I've heard about Chuck Hagel, but he wasn't the one who started this bullshit, the Democrats were. Right in time for the elections too.
P.S. You have NO standing to call me 'son', my mother and father are the only ones who have that right and my father is dead, so that kind of narrows down the candidates.

As opposed to the US, where blind ignorance and propaganda breed voters, and greed and influecne breed politicians who do the exact same things as terrorists.
It doesn't breed voters here, it breeds liberals. Liberal mindsets wouldn't exist if it weren't for blind ignorance. As for politicians, yeah they are a bunch of fucking assholes, but I haven't seen them strap bombs to themesleves to kill a few enemies lately.
That's a ludicrous statement. All that supporting Israel has ever garnered the US is the animosity of a very large portion of the worlds population.
Well hopefully that'll change and we'll start to get something other than a watchdog over there wont we? As for breeding animosity worldwide, that's been happening since the end of WW2, Isreal is a drop in the bucket for the few legit and many lame assed reasons to hate this country.
Israel has never given the US anything, except for continual embarrassment on the internation stage.
Actually I kind of admire them. They've continually managed to hold off every other nation in the area despite the extreme hatred of them by said nations for even existing and they seem genuinely unafraid of the terrorists that live in their backyards. They actually seem to prosper despite that cloud hanging over them. Every country that's attacked them, (read, arab ones), has had it's ass handed to them. I think that's pretty admirable. If their methods seem crude, oh well, they're effective.

i think it's too far gone, 2stroke. there won't be a draft, our army is large enough. and i doubt the gov't would like the face the mass uproar of disapproval from the population if they were to implement a draft.

yeah, especially since the new proposal calls on agreements between Canada and us, (no draft dodging now) and requires women to sign up for the draft too. (that last part is the only one I agree with).

It's funny. YOU ranting about blind ignorance about anybody, Liberal or not.
LMAO
As for the Democrats introducing the bill, I know that. If YOU paid attention, they introduced that bill last year. The Bushists' assertions on this thread about it being a Democrat ploy, or whatever, would've been more feasible, had it not been for the rumblings from the Administration itself, and now, the open declaration by a senior Republican.
Please, don't insult our intelligence with your "<insert group of people here> are ignorant" type remarks, k? You're the "Mr. 'Muslims are evil'", or whatever that was that got you banned in the first place. If that's not a sign of YOUR ignorance, I don't know what is. Oh wait, there is a second sign of your ignorance. The fact that you hold the Bush family's "morals" in high regard.
At least I know, and admit that Kerry's a jackass, and I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him. I am counting on the fact that Republican Congressmen will hold that same thought on him, instead of the blind support Bush gets from them. Kinda like how he gets that from you...
BTW, have you even tried to begin unraveling my logic on why I'm voting for who I am voting for in November? C'mon. You're a smart voter, that's conscientious and thinking clearly about who to vote for, right? It should be easy to destroy my logic as to why I'm voting for the guy opposite yours, right? Right?

Notice how it suddenly got huge in the liberal media right about now though? Gee, I wonder how it suddenly went from a couple of bills that were probably going to die never being paid attention to, to something in the media spotlight, after a YEAR of sitting around.

'Don't insult our intelligence with "" are ignorant type remarks?' Are you FOR REAL! What have I been getting pissed off at you about this whole time! YOU are the one with the 'everyone who does not have my political viewpoint is a moron shadowed by my immense genius!' attitude. It's been in almost every remark post you've made here! 'What's that Mr. Pot? Mr. Kettle is black??' Shit...
As for "Mr. Muslims are evil", read the news every time a homemade or suicide bomb goes off somewhere and kills people, 99.9999999999% of the time, guess who it is that strapped on a bomb and decided to go all the way? I'll give you 3 guesses! Let's see if you can ditch the political correctness to get the answer.
At least I know, and admit that Kerry's a jackass, and I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him. I am counting on the fact that Republican Congressmen will hold that same thought on him, instead of the blind support Bush gets from them. Kinda like how he gets that from you...
I'd rather support Bush than Kerry is all. Kerry is worse than Bush, which makes him truly disgusting indeed. So i'm for the lesser of two evils here.
Right?
'Destroy your logic for voting for Kerry'..... Logic? What is this 'logic' you speak of in this matter? 'Voting for Kerry' and 'Logic' don't go together, 'Voting for Kerry' and 'I was drunk, what can I say...' go together.
Do I really need to repeat all of this?
Kerry served his time, which is better than Clinton did, he also ended up going to Vietnam which Bush didn't. Then he ended up turning into a hippie activist, (after using a loophole to come home early), who was totally against the war or anything that it stood for. NOW, after enjoying the millions garnered from playing pretty boy to rich women, he's COMPLETELY indecisive. Kerry has, over the years, gone completely against every single thing he ever stood for. Wow, what a good president he'd make! To top that off, despite saying he's for the little people, he'll be one of the richest, if not THE richest president in history if elected and enjoys any number of mansions around the world while not on the campaign trail. Yup, he'll pass reforms for big business all right... if anything, he'd benefit more from not harnessing big business than Bush would/has! Oh! But wait! N.O.W. would be goint apeshit because it wouldn't be the richest PRESIDENT in history, it'd be the richest FIRST LADY in history, N.O.W. would be eating that up and using it to their advantage at every turn possible. As for the war in Iraq, I don't know what the hell his mindset on it is, (at this particular moment), but I can guarantee you it's not the same view it was yesterday or the day before, he seems to change his mind a lot after all. Anything else any Kerry haters have that I'm forgetting or don't know about? I'll bet there's plenty
As for 'holding Bush's morals in high regard' I never said that, I said I hold them higher than Kerrys, which is to say, at least Bush HAS morals, however skewed and/or believed in they are.

So hmmm...
justacruiser repeating the fact that Kerry is corrupt and rich: true.
justacruiser refuting the fact that Bush is corrupt and rich: false.
Here's my logic again, that I am quoting, just for you, to refresh your memory:
My logic is simple. I contend that Bush and Kerry are as equally corrupt as politicians go, except that one of them has the power to make a scared Congress do whatever he wants, like paying Iraq's interim government 3.5 million a year, as US jobs go overseas...or go to war, sacrificing young Americans for a lie.
I doubt if Kerry will have that kind of "pull" in a Republican Congress, which makes me feel better.
I'm not hedging on either one to make it "better", just counting on the one that won't make it worse.
Destroy that logic, and you can win my vote for Bush -- again. Simple, right?
justacruiser presents evidence to destroy my simple logic, to destroy my reason for voting for Kerry: false.
