Exp Slammer

In need of a quick build, soccer moms nightmare. This is the exp snap kit. Not satisfied with the ride height, slammed it in the weeds. Yes the wheels come with the kit. Will be painted HOK Zenith gold w/ Orion silver flames, then a coat or two in Kandy ? Any suggestions on kandy color?

Yes Tonioseven, there is alot of green cars, heres one from my stable. I was thinking Kandy tangerine or a Kandy purple?

excelent project. can you please post pics of the undercarage of the exp to show how you slammed it. I have several ideas of how to do it that i want to try. but you can never have too many.

i'm think maybe a dark dark red, candy brandy wine or somethin, or maybe a mild blue, not dark but not light...

I'm feeling some bigger wheels on that bizzatch. Like some 20" Bellagios from Hoppin Hydros.

Well here is some progress of a snap kit, can you believe that. This is the HOK Zenith gold matallic. I will lay the flames out next and paint them HOK Orion silver.

Nice man, will look very mini truck with flames over that, you thought about just doing candy flames for about 2/3s of the body, maybe in blue? Now I think of it I think it would look real tight with flames from the front bumper, going up to the top of the front fenders and running along side the window sills and bottom of the pillars, with the whole roof the same colour. I honestly think that would be mad in candy blue over that gold. But it's your call ;)

Thank you for your input, I have not yet decided how to do the flames yet. Maybe mask them out and spray kandy for the flames, take mask off and spray kandy over all that. Give it a ghost effect. wha'cha think??

Oh yeah man, some kandy orange or tangerine ghost flames would be nice with the gold.

truckin coolness. the only mod i would make to it would be shave the handles. but its model do with it at you please :p

Maybe its just me, but I would consider doing the flames in a color other than silver.
I am not sure if you have HoK's color chips, but under the some of the candies, the difference between gold basecoat and silver basecoat is almost un-noticeable.

While this works great for ghosting flames, it may be so close that you don't even notice the difference.

I assume that you are going to put the same color candy over the whole car, and have the flames show because of the different undercoat colors?

And idea for the flames, before you put on the actual color. Paint the flames in bronze on top of the gold. Then paint over it all with some translucent color, like lime green. That will give a kool effect, works with some colors, not sure exactly what colors. Mess around with some Model Master paints.

I have like 3, byt the thing is, I have to be into it. I can't just start building, I have to have a idea. Thats why I built this expo.

I've seen those flames before.Woudn't be the Testors vinyl masks would they?I have a set of those,they work very well.It's lookin' really groovy.

alright, now I'm not on my head anymore. Yes the flames are from Jimmy Flintstone. I said I would never buy them, but what do you do when no one has low tack frisket film? Get 'er dun!!!!!

Yea Im going to try to come. Ill bring the miserable failure of the HotRod I, and bring plans for Hot Rod II and the frame depending how far I am. Thanks for the offer on the ride situation, Ill keep it in mind.
