What size speakers are in the front doors of the 95 Accord EX? I've heard it was 6.5" but the speaker covers don't look nearly that size and I can't see the actual speakers. Also if anyone knows how to take the speakers out, that would be appreciated too. Thanks in advance.

i've been wanting to know that, and i'll find out tomorrow, im rewiring my amp power wires tomorrow, in order u take out that thing, well i duno how, i usually just take out the doors interior,
unscrew the lil screw in the door handle, dont pull it, push it towards the front or back, and it will come out easily, if u pull it ur guna break all the clips, then theres one plug, u gotta take it out, then u just pop out the door

they're 6.5's.
pop off the speaker cover and there's three phillips screws holding the speakers in place... unscrew... put new speaker in... put screws back. if you want to take off the door panel.. i've heard they're a pain.

Does the speaker cover actually just pop off? I've tried pulling on it but it won't budge, I don't want to pull too hard that I break it but it seems pretty well on there.

i've found the speaker size, its a 5.25 speaker, my stock one is just a friggin piece of paper (or it feels like it), and u got to take off the door to get it out, because the grill is screwed on from the back
i'll tell you how to get it out
#1 take out ur interior door handle, and the whole piece with the window buttons
#2 on the top right of the door there will be a lil plastic screw the color of your interior, take that out by pulling on the top and right side of your door, the door should pop out a lil and the screw will come with it
#3 then the rest of ur door will also pop out
#4 when all the plug things have poped out, u gotta lift the door up, and don't pull, remember to lift it up
#5 thats it, there are 3 screws that hold your speaker in, in order to install another speaker, you must cut the wire harness that is stock, then use the two wires that are left and connect it to your speaker
#6 before u put the door back together, on the top right, the opposite side of ur side mirror, there is a triagular piece of plastic, pull straight out, don't pull it on the side or anything
#7 then u can put the door back on, then the triangle, then the door handle, and the window controls
i just took my door apart to see how it works today , hope it helps and isn't too confuzing
also one more thing, i measured with the ruler, from one side of the speaker to the other side, its exactly 5.25, but that is the STOCK SPEAKER ONLY, the harness that goes with the stock speaker will only fit the stock speaker, if u take out the harness also, then it looks like u can fit a 6 1/2 speaker, i must investigate further
Edited: ok after "further investigation" my friends 6 1/2 speaker is the same size, but the speaker itself is a fuckin 5.25 (from one side of the woofer to the other side) and there is a stock spacer, that spacer doesn't allow you to put anything there except the stock speaker, so for any other kind of 6 1/2 speaker u gotta get new spacers, or find a way to fit them in.. this is confuzing, o well i'll find a way soon

ok i been examining the speaker and the door, i realize the stock spacer is actually some kind of rain guard (look at it you will know what i mean) the way the vents on the spacer are faced no water can go in
ok from what i read in other forums, the only way to get new speakers, would be to either get some crappy ass speakers, or to cut the spacer, when u cut the spacer, u risk getting water into your speaker, also do not go past a 3 inch depth for the speaker, because the window will hit the speaker when it comes down (depth with the window up was more than 4, depth with the window down was less than 3) so honda doesn't really leave much room for expansion, but in so long no one has really gotten water in their speaker, so there should be nothing to worry about
