First post in this site, I have a 97 4X4 454 Chevy suburban, has been running great, till now I shut off the truck and then went inside for awhile came back out and started it up and it felt like I dropped a cylinder, when ever I put in in gear and sit there with foot on the brake, the truck wants to shudder (feels like its loping--I hope I spelled that right) then when U give it gas it has a surge to it, like its missing. No codes as of yet, truck has 88K on it plugs have been changed 3 months ago....feels like I fouled a plug, is that possible on this type of vehicle? Any help would be greatly appreciated :banghead:

check the distributor cap& rotor for corrosion, cracks, carbon tracking. have a look at the injectors too look for signs of washing(clean spots) the regulator may be ruptured and is leaking. also don't overlook the plugs and wires even though they are new one might be cracked. you might have codes even though the engine light isn't on yet
