hi guys, Im new with firebirds and im researching many cars because im turning 16 and wana find the best one out there for me.
Can someone tell me a little about them or a website that does that.
How fast are the 1997-99 3.8L ??? 0-60 ??? 1/4 mile ??? Are they faster than a Honda Prelude?? Honda Del sol ?? Nissan 300Zx non-turbo??
Are they monster fuel eaters??? (compared to Honda Prelude) ?
How are they compared by speed and fuel economy, and engine longevity compared to a Honda Prelude?? does anybody know??
How much added horsepower can a stock 97-99 3.8 Liter firebird take without starting to have problems??? and this is without turbos and superchargers, and major modification to the engine.
If I get a 97-99 3.8 L firebird, what are the first things that I should do to add more power?? i/h/e ??? How much power would I get from cold air intake/ headers/ exhaust??? or are these not the things for a firebird?? What are the things I would want ??
What should I do to add more power to the car, and without going turbo or supercharging.
How much NO2 can I use on a stock engine???
Thanks dudes.

I can't believe I am even gonna help u cuz ur considering a honda over a firebird....stock - 200hp, 225lb/ft of torque, 0-60 7.4 1/4mile in 15.7, headers intake and exhaust should add about 30hp if you get highflow cats also. 75shot of Nitrous should be most u should use on a stock engine but i still say:nono: to NOS ur gonna be a beginner driver anyways.

Well, like I said, Im researching a lot of cars, and getting info on them, honda is only one of my first chices because it doesnt eat a lot of gas and its engines can live long, I REALLY like the firebird, but for me to really like it even more, I would need all the info I can get.
Is the 3.8L a fuel monster? does it eat a lot of gas? and what kind of fuel is good for them??
WHats the 3.8L firebird called, does it have like initials (crx, vr4, etc.) ????
What would be the 0-60 and 1/4 mile after I add the headers, intake, and exhaust??
What kind of exhaust, intake, headers are good and not that expencive???
I dont want anything bigger than a 3.8 because then I would go broke from all the gas prices.
And dont think that Im a ricer, cause Im not, im just searching for many cars, I just made my user name like that because when I first saw these forums, i liked hondas, and thought that there is no better cars than them, but now I found a lot of cars that are better. So dont hate, just help a newbie out. THanks.

22mpg is about average on a 3.8L, no it doesnt have a name like cx, vr4, etc. and your et's, 0-60 and 1/4 times, should go down about .8 of a second. My bro has RK SPORT headers MAGNAFLOW exhaust CATCO catalytic converter, and MOROSO air intake.

One thing you have to consider is that if you want performance, there is a lot more money to pay than the extra performance parts and the car itself. More power, less gas mileage. Trust me, my bird is horrible on gas. Of course I prefer speed. Thats why I bought my bird in the first place. Of course, even with as much as you spend on gas, you will spend more in maintenance. Havin a car w/ big balls means you better have a big wallet. My two cents...
