hey, i just got a 3.4 pulley installed on my car and it squeals like hell, even at idle. there's plenty of tension on the belt, and strangely, it worked fine for the first few hours. i thought maybe it was a defective belt so i bought another one with the same results. i used belt dressing, and that helped for a few seconds only. the noise seems to be coming from the tensioner pulley, so i replaced it, and nothing got better. everything seems lined up and i don't know what to do, please help.

Also, check the pulleys out. The bearing may be going, when they go you can kiss your belt goodbye.
Spin the idler and tensioner by hand and make sure there that they spin freely.

yah, i already checked all of the pulleys, both the idler and tensioner are practically new. i was looking at the supercharger pulley, and i noticed there was still a noticable gap, and it occurred to me that the pulley may have been put on backwards, since the mechanic didn't bother looking at the instructions. the way it's setup is so that the hollow end of the pulley is facing out, but shouldn't it be facing towards the supercharger?

I had to go look at my wife's car since I had never heard of anyone putting a SC pulley on backwards, but I think you're right. If the flat side is facing toward the SC and the concave side is facing out...then it is on backwards.

that's what i was thinking. i just hope taking it off and putting it back on won't damage it to the point of needing a new one. anyways, thanks a lot guys.
