The Driver side door on my 89 si rubs at the bottom when you close it. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it, thanks. I would prefer to not grind down the bottom of the door :uhoh:

the hinge has most likely sagged, check to take a look, and post some pics

I'm having trouble getting some good pics, its rather tight in there, it doesnt look bent or sagging, its only a very slight scrape and it only happens intermittently.

Any of the mounting bolts loose at all, take and try to tighten em up really quick, see if that helps...
Then take some pics, no matter what quality, give us an idea of what youre lookin at

Take a big phillips screw-driver and adjust the door strike up a little bit. That worked for me.

Yeah, (I think you meant strike instead of scrape) that's the strike.

Just loosen the screws on it, and push it upwards slightly and re-tighten the screws... When I adjusted mine, I found it was best to be inside the car so that I could see how the strike was lining up with the latch much more easy. I would loosen the strike, move it, tighten it slightly and then close the door very slowly (and not all the way) to make sure it still lined up well. Once I felt I had it in the proper spot, I'd tighten the strike, and close/open the door a few times to test it, paying attention to how well the edges of the door lined up, and making adjustments as necessary.

Let me know if that works. I have the same problem, mine only scrapes in a foot long section nearest the latch. In reading the helms manual it seemed like I needed to realign the hinges themselves. I was thinking about loosening the top hinge where it is attached to the car and pulling the door up a bit. Ci5ic's method seems a lot easier.
