What do you all think of E-Manage VS. Hondata, what are the pros and cons of each, which would be better for the use of a daily driver???

From what I've read the hondata system tuned is the next best thing to a factory honda turbo. I will tell you first hand this week as I am currently waiting for my base map chip for the s100 that my boys are installing for me .reason being with the exception of a standalone all the systems i researched seem to try to fool the computer into not seeing the boost and running a modified fuel and timing map that are not boost being read by the comp. The exception is the hondata which works with the stock sensors and teaches them to see boost and therefore lets the comp use a boost referenced fuel and timing map to ensure proper driveability under all conditionsnot just wot
and from what ive seen , I have gone through some changes in my approach to turboing my civic gsr I had it set up and running with a missing link MSD boost retard larger injectors and a FMU an dit just didnt idle like stock.an d yesterday it was started and idled but the chip was set up for a 3 bar map sensor so it wouldnt rev past 2000 rpm but it sat there and idled like a stock gsr no chugging no stumbling SWEET.

well i think the AEM EMS is the best choice of all, but its not very user friendly and costs about 10 nights at the bar. I think you would be happier and better off with the Hondata. Just make sure you get the best map set for your needs girl

10 nights at the bar?? either you're a really heavy guy or can take a heck of a lot of wobbly pops...
concerning your question chixSI.. it all depends on how much money you want to spend. personally, i'm going for the aem ems... but i've got my reasons for that. if you're willing to drop the cash go for the aem ems... but if you're a bit tighter in the money reigon.. go for the hondata (i'd recommend s200)

aem or hondata is the best way to go. doesnt matter which of the two you pick, just depends on how you tune it. there both great stand alones. I am biased with the hondata since i use it, but heres some links and info if you want to start somewhere:

yeah money is a bit tight at the moment since i just got the turbo in and i have to get more stuff (break system, turbo timer, clutch etc....) but i was just thinking of sticking with the e-manage for right now then later on down the road go with something else. i heard good about AEM EMS and know that if i go with that my car will run like a dream! but would it be good for a daily driver? how much does it usually cost? Anyways thanks guys!

EMS costs about $1200 plus the wideband O2 which is like $400. I can get them new for like $900 with the sensor from my boy, ( case your wondering he is an backyard retailer )

greddy e manage is underrated. it has the capability to "see" boost with the pressure sensor and you can tune it very well. Even though it is an piggyback computer, it has many capabilities. This system is used widely by WRX and EVO's that cant use hondata or dont want to spend the grand or so on AEM. I have heard many good reviews and good things about the Emanage from people that got the system and got it tuned. for example, one thing that the system is capable of is you can input your original injector size and then if you are running larger injector size you can input that and the emanage remaps your ecu to run with those injectors. it idles very well. its by no means better than the Hondata, but if you are OBD2 and dont want to do a costly conversion, then this is a good choice, everything you need should be under 400.

since this thread repopped up. i change my position.
i am now biased uberdata. it has its bugs, but, for the price, it works just as well as hondata :grinyes:
i wished i would of just spent the time in the first place getting fimiliar with uberdata, instead of dumping $2000 + for hardware and tuning.

Neptune is a lot better than Hondata, provided you don't care too much about fiddling with it yourself, untill it's released in software format for people to tune on their own. Boost control, 2-step, gear based timing and fuel control to keep things safe in fourth or fifth gear, actually has IAT correction (if you live in a climate with big temp swings hondata sucks), real support for a 5-bar MAP, etc.
