Hi all I was hoping that yall could help me out a little, I just bought a 92 explorer sport 4x4, and I love it, but I was hoping to upgrade the tire size a little I have heard that it can run 31,s stock, is that true?? I am sure that I would have to get some highly offset wheels for clearence, do high offset wheels make any problems with steering of stability? If I do decide to lift it a little should I go with a suspension lift or a body lift, what are the pros and cons of each? One of the only bad things that I have heard about the explorers is that they have a bad 5 speed (mazda B1 I think) If this tranny decides to go out what would be a good replacement tranny? BTW I tried to get my explorer stuck yesterday, I stoped it in about 2.5' of slimy mud let it sink for a few seconds and left it in 2wd, it dorve out without a problem, considering that I don't even have mud tires on it that is amazing. I am very impressed.
