Cruise cntrl/ Airbag Light?

I drive a 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo and recently the cruise control on the car stopped working for me. At the same time that this happened my airbag light turned on and I was curious if maybe this is related to the same problem, and if so what would the problem be? If it something as simple as a cable reel in the steering wheel then I wont need to pay somebody to fix that, but if the problem is a more serious one I would like to know. Has anybody else had this problem? Does anybody else know how to fix it?

Let me guess ... your horn doesn't work either?
It is probably that main spiral spring in the steering wheel.
