First off, if this is innapropriate, mods pm me and let me know, I dont wanna cause trouble, just wanna get this out...
K so recently cops are just out to get me or something. Seriously, like everyone says that, but I'm being serious. Let me tell you two of the reasons I've been pulled over lately. A while back I was drivin home, coasting down this hill, in neutral cuz I know my car is loud and I didnt want to attract any attention. Anyways, a cop cruises by me, then right as he gets by me, flips a bitch and rides my ass for abuot 3 blocks. Then flips his lights on. Reason...and I quote "I noticed the light reflecting on your muffler there so I knew it'd be too loud." I asked him if he heard me and he said no, but most big mufflers would be too loud... :wtf:
Second time was the other night. Im rollin down a street tryin to get home, goin 2 UNDER so as to not get pulled over, I roll past a cop sittin in a parking lot. I look over and make eye contact, he immediately shifts into drive and pulls up on my ass. He flips the lights and I pull over. Reason this time..."Your brake lights arent working properly." I ask him how he knows that, he answers "I didnt see them when you were slowing down." My response..."I DOWNSHIFT TO SAVE BRAKES" God, just leave me alone already...

Yeah, I know what you mean, likely you've done something in the past to make them suspicious though, I've done some dumb things when I was in High School, and they'll follow me every now and then at night still. I usually don't get pulled over, but I do get followed from whenever I leave to whenever I arrive somewhere. Don't know your situation, but if you have any sort of reputation with the law I'd say that's the reason. Cops don't forget or don't like to anyways. If you live in a small town like i do it doesn't help matters either, they get bored and will look for something to do usually.

Those sound like two cops that don't deserve the uniform. At least this isn't one of those "I broke the law and the cops are dickheads for doing their jobs, whine whine whine" threads :)

Although, did you get any tickets with either of them? If you didn't, then what's there to stress about? :)

I was watching the road. There were no cars so I walked across and when i got halfway across the other side, the cops came speeding around the corner n didn't even stop at the Give Way sign and almost took me out.

Toksin

You're not supposed to stop at a Give Way sign, you're supposed to stop if necessary. ie If a car is coming your way.

LMAO, I don't even know her and that's funny. :grinno:

I had a close call with the cops on Friday night. I was going 50 in a 35 zone (had to get to a birthday party) and I passed a cop going the other way. IMMEDIATELY I slam on the brakes. Sure enough, 2 seconds later he does the patented "U-Turn in the Middle of the Fucking Street" that only cops do. I veered left onto an alley (what's funny about that is I actually signaled the turn) :screwy: I stop, park on the street, cut my lights, and look in my rearview mirror. The fuzz goes right by. I wanted to add insult to injury, so I got back on the road turned left, and then turned right, and ended up RIGHT BEHIND him ! The dork didn't do anything.

LOL, actually first of all, yeah I do have quite the record, none of which I"m proud of, but that was a long long time ago, last ticket was almost a year ago. Neither of the cops that recently pulled me over were the ones issuing the tickets, theyre newbs. I guess youre right Toksin, nothin really to fuss about, it just gets on my nerves sometimes when I get bullshit reasons for pullin me over, and wasting my time. But then again, I realize that if they werent out doing that shit, some good things wouldnt ever happen either. A while ago my system got jacked outta my car, and they randomly pulled some guy over for havin to trailer hitch balls on his truck, turned out to be the guy that had my system. Dumbass had my marroon ashtray on the floor of his tan interior, with my insurance info on it... :banghead: At least I got my stuff back...

Also, you guys stole my thread and are whoring it up...I dont appreciate it... :icon16:

Ive got respect for cops because my dads one and this and that. The ones around here like my import and are intereted in them. Even though im in Tennessee they dont care that its not a 76 ford pickup. There has been a couple of time the cops stopped these people driving a PINTO from beating my car while I was in walmart I think it was. They said I didnt need to be driving that car and needed somethin cool. The cops arrested them and my dad said they had a psychological test dont to see if they were isane. Hehe 98 Integra GSR compaired to a Ford Pinto. I mean even the cops were that stupid. I drag race at a legal drag strip with my friends most of the time so they think thats cool to because I dont street race. I guess im a suckup to cops lol I dont know. I respect what they do more than hate them for pulling me over. (I do street race occasionaly)

family members of cops always like cops. they can just throw out the ol' "hey do you know my dad, sgt. whoever" or they can conveniently place their dad's badge or police/business card thing right where their license and registration is so the cop sees it and then they get off. they can't relate to the 3 am searches for "drugs" that are uneventful and then to avoid looking like an asshole the cop gives you a BS no blinker ticket(which costs you $50+). the most common excuse i've seen is "a car matching this vehicles description..."... "please step out of the car" and then they rip all your shit apart with no courtesy for someone else's property.

fuck cops.

You think getting stopped for having a fart cannon is bad? Try this on:

Reasons stopped -

38 in a 40
Driving after midnight with another person in the car
Noise violation when there was no stereo in my car (it was stolen), Driving recklessly because I only let my blinker flash once while making a lane change on a deserted road (the state trooper was at Big Boy's when I did it, there were not other cars on the road)
1 felony stop because my 1992 S-10 Blazer 4 door (red) matches the descrition 'blue monster 4x4',
Once for not having a third brakelight (truck is a 92, wasn't required until 93)
Felony stop because the cop saw me run to my car after school (first time I ever had a gun pointed at my head)
Once for having unauthorized items on the rear view mirror (fuzzy dice!)

That's all I recall off the top of my head.

Tickets issued - 1 speeding (35 in 25, 4 lane road at 6 AM. Cops said it was school hours)

All of these incidents can be related to DWB.

Hey it happens, I was hit by a drunk driver about a year and a half ago, and he started chucking beer cans out the window trying to be sneaky or something. My mom was in the car, she was hurt, but I didn't have a scratch on me, I got out and was running around the car to my mom, and I looked back to see who hit us, and he was sitting there chucking them out the passenger window. He just looked up at me, and went back to throwing them out the side. And then he tried standing between me and the cans like I wouldn't see them. I wanted to go off on his ass but he already pissed his pants when he hit us so I didn't, cops were on their way anyways, I knew they'd take care of it. So yeah, some drunks will do a shitty job of hiding the evidence, I wouldn't say the cops were dumb.

im sorry about your accidnet, but he beer can was like old and in the water ( i crashed into a puddle of slush). there was no way i could have thrown it under the car. so ho knows this cop wasnt realy nice as alot of the cops in my town dont like young drivers. but ya know they keep the idiots off the road most of the time. just wish they would put a little more time into catching the guys who did someting instead of making their ticket quota on the teenagers. (ususaly the ones who dont desirve it). everyone i know who got a ticket was a decent driver and all the drunks seem to never get caught.

Colov99...I know what you mean about getting stopped just because of the car you drive. I get stopped at least once a month. It also doesn't help when you work nights and are driving home during the wee hours. For the most part, they just harrass me about "is this your vehicle?" - "just a check for dui" - or some stupid shit like that.
It's just a pain in the ass during a lunch break, or after a long day at work.
With that said, sometimes they stop cars for no good reason and end up finding something worth while. Less drunk drivers on the road is a small price to pay for a few minutes of downtime.......

so wait, you in your chevy caprice and colov, in his crown victoria(both cop cars),claim to have trouble with getting pulled over based om the vehicles you drive? I figure cops would be hesitant cuz they may be attempting to pull over a Dt.

try driving a dropped import with intake and exhaust, then come talk to me, ugh. even if you don't get pulled over, every flopper you pass by eyeballs you. i gotta admit though, since i got my new car i haven't been messed with.

actualy amazing enough ive only gotten yeled at by a cop the once after my accident. but every time i park or drive by a cop i get the look (even my g/f in the car notices it). (her uncle is a cop in the town and is a huge bigot and so is most of the towns cops). i have no problems with cops. i just some times have problems with who they stop or glare at. i know many of my freinds have goten pulled over or tailed for no reason because they were driving safely while others who drive like maniacs just speed on by cops. the worst was my freind who almost got arrested for crashing into a tree. (instead he got a $100 citation ). (he fought it out).

Ok before anybody else goes on about how cops ruin there day...let me point this out. If there werent any cops do you think you would have the parts on your car that you have? (No ones there to stop people from stealing them.) How are you gonna feel when some drunk dumbass runs into your prized car and ruins 15 grand. (Cops werent there to stop them.) I can go on and on with stuff like that but ill save the time. Heres the truth: If cops werent here people would whine because there werent people like cops. I never will get people like that. No I dont get off because my dads a cop and never will. Want to know why? I try not to do anything wrong. Sorry for those of you who have cops in your town who abuse their rights but I dont in my town so I dont know what its like.

dyno, i have no problems with cops, im glad their out there. and the drunks run into our cars alot of the time anyways even if there are cops because there either arnt enough cops or there not out doing the right things. i personaly could never be a cop. theres alays a chance of getting killed or being shot at or getting injured during a rutine stop or anything. i am in no way putting down all cops. just those few that spend time pulling over teenagers because they want to prove their better then them instead of pulling over the people who are drunk or actualying doing something. and dyno i wihed i lived in your town. but the problem with a big town and state (with tons of really bad drivesr , go MA) is that some cops just get fed up with it and start pulling over everyone they think might be bad drivers not who are. so i guess part of it is the cops part is the enviroment. my guess is you live in a fairly quiet town. and to your last statment i never do anyting to get introble wit the cops, neither do my freinds, but they still manage to get pulled over for driving to a friends house at 11pm or having an accidnt and the cop immideatly assuming their drunk. so its good we have cops i just think we should pay them more so they actualy care about what they do a bit more. instead of having to make up stupid fines to keep their precent in buisness because our goverment doesnt want to fund cops but rather a "homeland defence". which basicly is higher paid cops with more power.... i realy think that if cops got paid better and had better benifites we would get pulled over less often. but thast just my 2cents. and i could be totaly off my rocker..

I was merely pointing out that I tend to get stopped more often with this car than with my previous or other cars. I don't mind getting stopped too often, as I pointed out in my previous post. It is annoying, but it does help them to find the odd drunk driver, or person with an outstanding warrant. I understand that they have a job to do, whichever way they decide to go about it. I know that I don't appreciate people trying to tell me how to do my job

I just wanted to say that I can relate to Colov99 in the situations that arize from driving an ex-cruiser. I never noticed these things until I bought this car. Now that I have one, people are much more courteous at intersections, on the highway, etc. until they see the person driving :) People that I work with were constantly telling me to paint a big X on my car so that they would know I am not a cop. Now they've gotten used to the car, and don't say much about it anymore. The police seem to notice a car like this more-so than a run of the mill grand am or accord.

Everyone I know has complained about getting stopped at one time or another, it's just universal. I'm not nit picking about it. Just sharing an experience.
